E.S. Johnson Builders has been building beautiful, custom-designed homes throughout the Charlotte metropolitan area and its bedroom communities with Value, Craftsmanship and Integrity since 1989.

We’ve been building on Lake Norman and the surrounding areas since 1989.  We’re not going anywhere.

The company’s mission focuses on capturing each client’s individual needs and dreams so they can build a vision together of what the home is to them.  Founder and president Eric Johnson started the American dream of building beautiful homes for everyone, regardless of price range.

E.S. Johnson Builders also believes in giving back to the community that it calls home.  Eric Johnson started a charity called Build for the Cure. For the past four years, the team builds a home a year to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Charlotte Affiliate and other affiliates, the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to fight against breast cancer in the world.  They also participate annually in the area Parade of Homes and Homearama Showcase.

The company is consistently recognized year after year and has been awarded top honors for Best Interior Design, Best Kitchen, Best Floor Plan, Best of the Lake Design Competition, Best Individual Feature, Best Landscape and Best Overall Home including the Best in American Living Home Award for Best home in America over 4001 sq. ft.

Eric is a member of the Charlotte Home Builders Association, the Lake Norman Home Builders Association, Builder 20, and serves as secretary/treasurer with the Green Building Council.  He is also is a Green Certified Professional with the National Home Builders Association.

We’re here to stay

E.S. Johnson Builders is one of only a handful of certified builders in Charlotte that offers green building initiatives for all homeowners.  The team educates new homeowners on incorporating environmentally friendly or green building practices into their new homes.  Homeowners can also learn how to take advantage of energy-efficient and other “sustainable” products that help give back to the community and help save resources.

E.S. Johnson Builders believes in only using top quality materials and the finest craftsmanship in the area.  The company has also built a strong reputation on doing things right the first time.  As Eric’s grandfather, Alfred Zillioux, said when he was very young, “You only have an opportunity to do it right one time, make sure you do it right the first time.  This is the secret to a quality project.”  Those words resonate with the E.S. Johnson Building team every day.  Each team member is cross-trained on every single job in the company and is ready to help a customer at a moment’s notice.  E.S. Johnson Builders strives to worker harder than anybody with a seamless communication and a paperwork system to make clients happy, comfortable and understand the entire homebuilding process.
